Introduction
The role of technological developments in this economy is of paramount importance. Such developments shape the nature of work and labour, the composition of the workforce, household consumption and so on. In order to understand the impact of technology on everyday life, it is useful to compare it with previous epochs of economic development. That’s why my second post of this series is about the economic changes that occurred during the industrial revolution and a new era of economic growth called the neo-liberalisation and the financialisation. Today I want to focus on a second, more recent, technological revolution: the Digital Revolution.

Everyone has heard of or has an idea of what technology is... even if the idea of the idea itself is not necessarily that clear. For this post I will explain how technology is the idea of how we communicate, interact, process, absorb, understand and store knowledge. In the context of human interaction technology can mean anything from TV to Facebook, Mobile Phone to a Watches, an iPad to just about anything.
